Don't say "Cheese"

Well I have tried and Jing has tried to photograph this young lady for their China Digital Scrapbook trading cards, and these are some of the better results! Any photographers out there up to a challenge? Come on over and just try to get a good shot of this child! You get fake smile, then when you say please no fake smile you get a glower, then when you tell her to say "rubber underpants!" you get too much of a smile. ACK! But we love her anyway!

  1. UH OH, does this mean my 4 year old will never out grow her inability to smile nice for a camera???? We've gotten the fake smiles or the tilt of the head so far that it looks like its on sideways thing for a year now, I was hoping it would get better.

As for the photo instead of it looking like a school ID or drivers license with her not smiling, why not take a photo of her looking dreamily (nice word huh?) off into the distance and take it just slightly off to the side. This way you could get most of her face and the expression wouldn't need to be a smile. Or maybe have her looking slightly down at a flower (or bug, LOL) The photo doesn't have to be perfect, just showing the others who else is "out there" looking like them!

I can't wait to see what you come up with!

  2. I can sympathize. I've learned never to ask Bethany to smile because it always comes out fake.

  4. I understand the problem. Cadi always gets that clinched jaw face and says, "I am smiling!"

  5. Actually, I think she's looks very pretty in pink, and she's starting to look like a young lady (aka a teenager!).
